Dear Juni Community,
Over the past few weeks, we’ve learned first-hand from parents and students about the challenges families are facing amidst recent school closures. After hearing their stories, the entire Juni Learning team has been extremely committed to finding even more ways to help our community during this time.
Beyond offering online courses, we are now more dedicated than ever to become a reliable community resource that empowers parents with the guidance they need to facilitate their children’s learning. We also want to provide support to our instructors, the backbone of our academy, and other displaced college students at this time to the best of our ability. To achieve these goals, we have been working quickly behind the scenes to roll out new resources in response to these ongoing developments.
Following is a summary of some the new initiatives we are launching to help families:
Starting today, Juni Learning will offer small group sessions through its academy. Sessions will be capped at a maximum of 4 students per class so that instructors can individually help each student, while still giving students the opportunity to collaborate in a social learning environment.
In these new Team Sessions, students will be able to interact with each other and a live instructor in the Juni Learner Portal. They can get help with projects, ask questions, and show others their work. Outside of Team Sessions, students will use the Juni portal to progress through videos and project-based content for their courses. New material unlocks as the instructors check student understanding and determine when they are ready for new topics.
This new, small group program is designed specifically for students ages 11+, and enables students to learn Python Level 1 or Python Level 2 without any prior programming experience. They simply need access to a PC or Mac, internet speed of at least 10mbps, and headphones. If students do not meet these requirements, we will work with parents to figure out alternative options.

Right now, healthcare workers are facing the challenge of caring for their children while also working harder than ever. Offering tuition support for Juni Learning classes is just one small way we can support our front line heros in caring for their own children, so they can continue concentrating on ensuring the health of our communities.
Starting immediately and running over the next 12 weeks, we will supply up to $150,000 in free group plan tuition* for families of hospital staff working to combat the novel coronavirus. To learn more about this initiative, please read this blog post by our CEO, Vivian.
If you are currently on hospital staff and you would like to enroll your child or children in Juni Learning’s Team Sessions free of charge, please complete this form.
To support university students now displaced from campus and looking for flexible, remote work, we are doubling our instructor hiring. For our current instructors, we are also working to add extended hours and find new ways to leverage instructors’ skill sets and passion for helping students.
If you know of any current university students or recent graduates looking for at-home work opportunities, and who have a strong passion for educating the next generation, we’re hiring for immediate start dates on our careers page.
With many schools and afterschool programs being temporarily suspended, we are taking immediate action to make our programs more widely accessible. We are partnering with schools and employers to offer extended hours, free and reduced-rate classes, and access to our free Hackathon.
If you are a parent, school administrator, People Operations, or HR Manager interested in connecting your school or employer with us for a partnership, please complete this form.
To help families looking for at-home education options, we will be updating our blog with free kids learning activities and educational articles. Every week, we will share more free online resources and projects on multiple subjects for various ages.
Our first week of content will focus on a free beginning coding series, for kids 11+ to get started on our intro to Python coding curriculum. In following weeks, we will then provide hands-on coding projects and tutorials for students of all ages to work on and cumulatively improve their coding skills. Other resources we will share include math exercises, guides to popular coding topics, video lessons, and more.
To receive our program and free resource updates, please subscribe to our newsletter using the form to the right of this blog post.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue to roll out more programs to support families in need of guidance during this time. Please stay tuned as we continue to update with more resources and steps we are taking to help our community. If you have any questions or would like to let us know of other ways we can help your family right now, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at hello@learnwithjuni.com.
